Hi,

Can anybody tell me how it works?
I read Mpeg2Schnitt can join files too, but cannot see how.

Thank you
Alex

Hi Metallo,

I can not directly answer your question in regard to MPEG2Schnitt but if you need to join MPEG2 segments you can simply merge them via copy /B DOS command.
If required you can fix the timecode by using DGPulldown.

I can provide more guidance if you wish.

Best regards,
D$

Hi,

I did it already but since the aspect ratio is not correct (I got the source files from a friend whose camcorder recorded in fake 16:9 so it doesn't show up correctly on a 4:3 tv set) therefore I decided to re-encode the two files.
The strange thing is that I had joined the files in DOS and they seemed to be OK, actually they are OK but when I tried to re-encode them with Procoder, the second part (the joined one) came out black.
I think the reason could be the header, sometimes using DOS you get this problem, that's why I wanted to try and join them again with another software.

Isn't it just anamorphic = squeezed, but resized on playback?

Well, whatever you call it...

SAR 5:4
DAR 4:3

and when I load the two original .vob files in Procoder, I get:

Video Frame Size: 756x576
Display Size: 540x576

That's why on my tv set I see people tall and thin

On another forum they suggest to try DVDPatcher, I didn't yet, maybe this is an idea.
