im using vdubmod to cut parts out of my avi files but i cant seem to get it exactly where i want it
it is always 3 secs before or 3 secs after the point i want it to cut
is there a way to get it precisely where i want it or will i need another app

I'm not certain, but i think virtualdub cuts by keyframes so you won't be able to get it any closer than that; but i am not positive either.

Direct stream mode (without re-encode video)
Beginning selection must be on key frame.
It's relate not only with VD.
Full processing mode, Normal recompress, Fast recompress (with re-encode video)
Can select any frame.
However actual VirtualDub have Smart rendering mode.
(Avidemux have some similar - Smart copy.)
Smart rendering (partially re-encode video, only some frames)
Can select any frame.
Smart rendering ...
- set Full processing mode
- set Smart rendering
- choose same video codec as source (Compression...)
