I've got a Dreambox with a HDD where i've got some 30min shows that i'd like to send over to my pc. when i transfer the programs to my pc, they come in .ts-format. not only that, they also have a massive size of about 950mb! i have tried to convert the .ts to .mpg (Mpeg2) with HDTVtoMpeg2 program, but it only gives me a .mpg file with a size of about 6-700mb, which is too much for 30min show, i'd say.. i've seen a lot places where 30min shows are in 2-300mb .avi-format...
which windows program/app should i use to convert that massive 30min file to a 2-300mb .avi file? i am not that picky of the quality, but it shouldn't bee TOO bad either.. i'd also be quite so happy if the program allows me to edit the video (cut off commercial breaks etc.) just like i can do with HDTVtoMpeg2, so yeah, which program should i use?
note: i am NOT going to burn this on dvd, so i don't need any DVD-guides!
