So it happened.. my hd had a seizure and corrupted whole lot of files. Ofcourse including my 20+ gig of dvd iso files that I made with nero recode from my DV-cam.
Now I can view these movies for example with XBMC in xbox, but as soon as first corruption occurs in dvd, XBMC stops playback.
Since all damaged material is footage of my family; kids, holidays etc, I really want to rescue data as much as possible. I searched here and google but found no apparent solution.
Please help me :thanks:

1) If you still have the original data intact, re-transfer the DV tapes again. If not...
2) I don't like saying it, but your best chance if you really want as much good data as possible, is the data recovery service. It is pricey. Someone might advise something else, but be careful what you try!

Well I've already "fixed" ISO's with windows diskcheck. Now they appear as valis ISO files but they are still broken.
I think I need a software what repairs my ISO's. either automaticly or open them for editing and re-encrypting for dvd format. I just have no idea what this program might be.

This was a very bad idea. If you considered a data recovery company, you prepared a very hard task for them, which might be even impossible to do. And if you can, you should stop writing anything onto this disk.
You might try this utility:
CD Mage

· repair of corrupted sectors (all CDRWin, Nero, CloneCD, BlindRead, DiscJuggler, Gear, NTI CD-Copy, Prassi, Winoncd and Creator images)
· rebuild of fields of corrupted sectors - ECC/EDC regen (all CDRWin, Nero, CloneCD, BlindRead, DiscJuggler, Gear, NTI CD-Copy, Prassi, Winoncd and Creator images)

Although this is not applicable to right now, one thing you should consider in the future is checksumming all your files and keeping redundant copies of the checksums. It would at least be able to tell you what's corrupt and what isn't, and if you have originals you can restore from, it can save a lot of time. If interested, look into either md5sum or sha160 (sometimes called sha1sum).
Unfortunately, once a hard drive freaks out, it's a painful process. It's dangerous to only have 1 copy, and hard drives are more fragile than they appear. I know lots of people on Doom9 like to keep things in as high-quality as possible, but if you want reliability, the dollar/gigabyte ratio can get pretty high. If the cost of redundant storage media is too high, sometimes it's worthwhile to forgo some quality and make compressed copies of the files to store somewhere else.

@setarip - the ISO itself is corrupt. Burning it and using ISOPuzzle can't help.
