I'm currently preparing a media center PC for playback on HDTV's, involving transcoding all my old DVD's to h264 for mass storage.
Since I will be transcoding anyway, I thought about changing the framerate and audio from my PAL content to match the intended pitch (I hate pitched movies) and framerate, 24fps since this is also what Blu-ray is using.
As a general rule you set the framerate on the display adapter fixed depending on the region - It's always been like that, so I would choose 25/50hz previously. Now there are more mixed content, and I can't be sure that everything I play is 24fps - How do I assure that I get smooth playback of everything, both 24fps and 25fps content (maybe even 30fps)?
