Hi all,
Has anyone seen this / tried this format converter and is it any good?

I am looking for a autoGK type application that will encode to .x264 etc preferably with ac3/dts audio from my hd cam to blueray or otherwise. Just wondering if there is such an app yet. Most are quite invlolved and don't offer simple solutions like autoGK did for xvid/divx files.

Greets,
I suggest looking at the very helpful Sticky on this forum titled 'GUI's Featured in this forum'. Honestly, not meaning to sound like a smartarse in saying that. It has a nice list of possibly all the GUI's talked about here. Most have pictures of their interface to give you an idea of how complex they may be. Their intro pages offer descriptions of available options.
As Atak suggested, you may like Ripbot264. ASXGui is also friendly enough. Let's you hide / unhide the more advanced options. MeGUI may be a bit beyond you if you are looking for simple. AutoMKV is nice once you get the settings to your likings. May still be a bit more than the simple you seek. I'm currently a big fan of StaxRip. Suggest you try it. Xvid4PSP is another one worth trying.
These programs can be like cars. Each one 'feels' a little different in the way they handle than the next one. It is in your interest to test drive several to see what you like. If you try out some and come back with questions like 'I prefer X program because of this... and Y program because of that... is there a way to combine those?' We may be able to offer more detailed suggestions, workarounds.
Cheers,
Rick

No. Instead, list all of the programs you know of. AutoMKV, MeGUI, Ripbot, staxrip, asxgui, etc.

Hi!Now everyones just going to advertise their own programs....In my opinion, if a developer has created a program that "fills the bill" and best serves the threadstarter's need, there's certainly nothing wrong with proudly suggesting its use. As to whether or not that developer should be compelled to recommend additional similar programs, that would seem to defy logic, since the developer sincerely believes that (as I said) his/her program best serves the threadstarter's need.
On the other hand, as I believe this to be the reason for your suggestion, common courtesy might suggest noting similar programs, in order to permit the threadstarter to "see what's out there" from which to choose...
BTW - It's far from "everyone" who posts at the Doom9 Forum that's a program developer...

apart the "best serves" which i would change in "thinks it could fit", i agree.
