Hey everyone, I have a quick question. You know when you open an AVS file in Megui and it open up the Video Preview. Is there a way to disable that video preview popup? It kinda annoying to keep having to close it if you have to encode like 50 movie clips. Thanks

yes, in the options

ok. I see the option, but it is grayed out.. how do i uncheck that option?

it's no longer possible since some time coz the preview is necessary to pass the aspect ratio to the encoder.
the option to disable it was grayed out/disabled on purpouse.

Then mention that as a note next to the option. Not everyone uses the AR feature of MeGUI.

it was mentioned in the changelog. it's also a temporary workaround until we find another way to solve the problem.

Although disabling it is a temporary workaround, it's not the only possibility. I'm simply suggesting another option with minimal inconvenience to the user. :)

yes, it is, otherwise (if the preview is disabled by the options) the AR wont be passed to the encoder and ppl will whine about it... so the option was disabled.
clicking a button to close it, is not so inconvenient... until we find a real solution.

so there is absolutely no way around it huh? I remember it was possible to disable it a couple months back.. anyway it not that big of a deal if you just encoding a dvd or something, but I myself encode clips so usually I have like 30+ avs files to import at a time so it is a little inconvenient.

I have a trcik to disable it and nothing went wrong in my encoding. Does this means anything?

@edtchie: Care to share your trick?

@shark: No, it is probably not a big hassle with sufficient screen resolution, but my encoding machine has a very old monitor with a resolution of 1280*1024. If I load an AVS with a resolution of 720p, it actually is a little tricky to close the window since I can only see the left quarter of the [X]. No, it is still not a BIG deal, but it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, and I too would appreciate a way to disable the AR check (if that is what requires this)

Thanks a lot for your hard work
Bucky
