I'm new at this and spent some time reading here. Iv'e got
together everything i need to do the job and tried the tut on the new eac3togui.after loading everything it told me everything was working except arcsofts decoder which i don't
really need this.. I'm trying to do the national Treasure 2. Ive got several ac3 folders which none are english i'm thinking its the 6ch true hd audio thats the english track. I converted the
true audio to ac3 it said the task had been completed but when i tried to listen to the ac3 track vlc wouldn't play it. I riped the bluray extracted the largest file choose h264 and reencode true audio to ac3 . The sound wouldn't play.. can someone here lead me in the right direction to getting just the main movie and english audio working here.. Thanks

be merciful i'm green

Hi!i'm thinking its the 6ch true hd audio thats the english track. I converted the
true audio to ac3 it said the task had been completed but when i tried to listen to the ac3 track vlc wouldn't play it.Are you certain that when you initially extracted/ripped the 6 channel TrueHD audiostream from your BluRay (or HD-DVD) disc that it wasn't corrupted?

all the other tracks play spanish, russian bla,bla.. If i demux the true audio track shouldn't it play back on vlc? My amp doesn't play true audio i'm trying to convert the audio to something that will like ac3..The true audio track is not listed like on hd-dvd's with the true audio english 5.1 its just true audio 6ch . How can i get this track to play on vlc? I can see y most people are dealing with the hd-dvd it looks alot easier to deal with than blu-ray.. Ive been messing with this about 2 days and still don't know where the english track is. Thanx for your quick reply

Can you post the eac3to log file?

@wuzzup
Your post is missing very basic answers.
Anyway, National Treasure 2 contains Dolby TrueHD 5.1 24-bit as Primary Track. Best DEAL for you, IF ONLY YOU WANT TO PLAY IT ON PC is..
1. Use Eac3to COMMAND LINE version. >> Eac3to.exe FILENAME.m2ts NT2.mkv
2. It'll give you a MKV file + FLAC file of main audio which is TrueHD.
3. Mux Flac file with MKV with MKVMerge.
4. Enjoy your movie in VLC.

This way you won't even loss any quality in audio too, in simple AC3 you'll have to bear quality loss.
Test & Post Results. With LOG.

Obviously the cmd version is not for you... You have to open the command prompt and run eac3to from there.

Stick to the gui and post the log file. We can't help else.

btw, sehgal.v7, nice suggestions you made there... He wants to make an ac3 track and you told him to create a mkv and a flac instead. Well done!!!

do you place the m2ts in the eac3to folder and run the command as Shegal stated?

mkvmerge v2.2.0 ('Turn It On Again') built on Mar 4 2008 12:58:13

Error: Could not parse the chapters in 'chapters.txt': opening the file failed

1. use the latest version of eac3to
2. use the latest build of mkvmerge or you will mess up the video http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/win32/pre/

it would be better to point eac3to to the original stream directory then you would also get the chapters.

is this correct

1) choose biggest m2ts file 29.2 gigs
2) opened eac3to add source file NT.m2ts
3) Eacto audio source file C:\HD\NT.m2ts save as ac3, file name audio ,bi rate 640 track 3 true hd/ ac3 5.1
4) Video input C:\HD\NT.m2ts save as mkv, file name video track 1, check in h264 /AVC Options, add to batch listing.
5) Vc1conv imput eac3to video video mkv output name NT,save log check, delete source check ,add to batch
6) mkvmerge choose eac3to video video mkv, title NT,default lang eng, use chapters file checked eng,add to batch listing
7) mkvmerge choose eac3to audio c:\hd\audio ac3, delete source checked, title NT.Default lang eng, output file name NT,use chapters checked, save log checked,
add to batch listings.
8) Batch processing , run batch listings..

Thanks for your help

"IF ONLY YOU WANT TO PLAY IT ON PC"
I think you din saw that bro.. Betta read before commenting!!

And i find GUI version of Eac3to MORE complicated thn Command Line version.
Command Line version is very very simple, thanks to Madshi for keeping it that simple!!

wuzzup,

my suggestion:

C:\Eac3to\eac3to.exe C:\HD\NT.m2ts 1: video.h264 3: audio.ac3

This Command will extract (core) ac3 and h264 tracks under the folder where eac3to exists. (In your case you will find them under C )

Or if you've choosen the output folder as C:\HD, the code will be:

C:\Eac3to\eac3to.exe C:\HD\NT.m2ts 1: C:\HD\video.h264 3: C:\HD\audio.ac3

And second step you can mux them to mkv with mkvtoolnix or into a TS container via TSMuxer.

EDIT: btw you can make a flac (lossless like truehd) = 3: C:\HD\audio.flac
