Guys, I'm having a heck of a time trying to keep OTA HDTV shows in sync. It seems as if even if it is 29.97FPS, the video still seems to speed up and leave the audio behind.

Using VDubmod, I've tried AVISynth, tried AVISynth > GraphEdit, tried HDTV2MPEG to load into Vdub....but they all give me the same result.

When I play the original file with PowerDVD, it's just fine. But I guess it's relying on the original timing in the header? (not sure about this part)

Thanks guys!!

Hi!I'm having a heck of a time trying to keep OTA HDTV shows in sync. When I play the original file with PowerDVD, it's just fine. Please clarify - What are you trying to accomplish?

Are you trying to convert your original captured file into a different format (video, audio, or both)? If so, what format(s)?

What are the video and audio formats of your captured OTA broadcast?

Please load your original captured OTA broadcast into GSpot and post a screen capture back here...

Thanks for replying, seta.

Well, I'm trying to compress some MPEG2 1080i content into h264 vfw 1280x720 and want to keep the original 5.1 AC3 soundtrack. Reason is that I make a lot of road trips and my laptop is not fast enough to play HD. The original file stays on my HTPC / HDTV captured with BeyondTV and a Hauppauge hvr-950 usb stick.

I have no problems doing it with other sources such as HD movies and HD clips from my Sony AVCHD camera.

Note: Even when I try other encoders like DivX or Xvid, the result is still the same. So I don't question the codecs

I'm not sure what GSpot is but I'll do a search

You could try to demux video and audio tracks with ProjectX which synchronizes everything

Hey, thanks for the reply.

It works perfectly when I encode the audio also. It just doesn't stay synced when I keep the original AC3.

My little problem now is keeping the audio synced when I cut out the commercials in vdub. It will lose a few hundred milliseconds of sync after each cut segment.
