Hello,
I'm looking for a good player that allows me to play video files at desidered speed. I have some 25p video file and I want to see them in original 24p speed (original audio tone too) by slowing the playback of 4%. I would use Reclock but I don't like the audio artifact it creates.

I just need something like the speed-up option of goldwave but for video too, to watch it in real time.

I tried with Kmplayer but I didn't find anything like that.

Hi!

I believe WinDVD (commercial software) provides this capability...

Media Player Classic, SMPlayer(+mplayer) and probably many others too. For your exact 4% though, I'd try to re-configure reclock or just live with it as is (with reclock or without time-stretching)

I tried WinDVD but it works only with DVD-Video and only by 5% steps and it keeps the pal tone

SMplayer, keeps the tone and step of 5%.

The best think would be using reclock but as I said I want to recreate the original 24p tone but the audio quality sucks

You must use -af scaletempo if you do not want MPlayer to change the pitch. No idea if you will like its artefacts any better (my ears are too bad to hear any artefacts anyway so I can't tell).
Edit: and use -speed 24/25 to get the exact slowdown you want.

It's PERFECT!

Thank you!

Is there any chance that I can add some gui to choose the speed without typing the command everytime?

I've just added in smplayer (svn r1705 (ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/smplayer/windows/smplayer_update_svn_r1712.7z)) some options in the menus to increase/decrease the playback speed by 4% (and also by 1%).

I hope that could be helpful.

Never mind It works perfectly.

Since you're here is it normal that when I play DVD-Video from disc the playback is not smooth, looks like there are dropped frames and it's really noticeable. Funny thing is that with other player this doesn't happen and if I copy the vob file of the same DVD and play it with SMplayer the playback is smooth!

Try to set a cache for DVDs (Preferences->Performance). It's disabled by default.
