How do I make this damn stuff play in MPC? I got FFDShow and downloaded some Windows Media Format Runtime 11, and still nothing. What gives?

What container are they in?
Run MediaInfo on it and post back the results.

Try muxing it into a .ts, did the trick for me. .vc1 is an elementary stream, I don't think it's playable on it's own, so you have to mux it into some kind of container.

no need to remux the stream to a new container. Just install the VC-1 Encoder SDK (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=5031c859-e8da-41bc-98e3-c13add5378b0&displayLang=en#). You can find a source parser for such streams (located in \\WMSDK\VC1ProSDK\Bin\). So, copy this dll in your WINDOWS\System32 folder and enjoy...
Works fine with the ffdshow decoder but not with the mpc ones. Dunno why.

Jesus. This format is PITA indeed. If only we could stay away from everything from MS :P
edit: Kurt, thanks :) I'll give it a shot.

Huh? This looks very much like a legit BR rip to me.

@HymnToLife
Hi!
"Ranguvar" is likely referring to the filename of "Lethal.Weapon.Blu-Ray.1080p.VC-1.DDPlus.5.1\00001.track_4113.vc1"...

Sounds like rule 6. Closed thread.
After a private discussion with Octo-puss, i think his source is legit. So i reopened this thread.
