I have some video and apply some filters to it, but I'd really like to be able to blend the original unfiltered back in at some percentage strength or opacity. I know how to do this in Avisynth, but how to do it in VirtualDub ?
Thanks

You can use the filter blending feature.

sorry i was using VirtualDubMod (no blend feature) because i was working with VOB/m2v's.. So, perhaps the correct way is to just use virtualDub (to get blend feature) and have it read an avisynth script that opens it instead (to get VOB/m2v reading)?

If you are going to use an Avisynth script, then just do it in there, as you say you already know how to do that.
The latest VirtualDub can open VOB/m2v using fccHandler's MPEG2 source plugin.
