Well I suppose this is old news so I didnt post it in the news section.

"We finally got to the bottom of this last night," said Dave Cole, Symantec's senior director for product management of its consumer software. "All of these problems are related to the same thing, a Microsoft file that created all the garbage entries [in the registry]."

Hi!

As you've said, this is "old news" - the link is to a May 2008 article.

Do you know whether the information in this article continues to be a problem, or was it resolved subsequent to the May release of the article?

FF running fine on SP3 here....some other weird stuff goin' on that's for sure but nothing tragic yet.

I use XP x64 SP2 :/

Much more stable, continuing support, and noticeably more responsive, too.

SP3 since it came out
nothing major, I just can't use display manager to get a reso bigger than 1024:960... but the driver utilities can do that, and a systembar icon is a much nicer way of doing it anyways

did real SP3 install too... slipstream a disc and install

there was some driver weirdness at first but that was it, and was my fault anyways

Yup, slipstreamded here as well and had some driver issues but due to OEM hardware :stupid:
