Hi,
Two questions if anyone has a chance
1. When "Increase Volume automatically" is enabled, how much does it increase the volume of the overall input file? Searching around I found a few people say to disable it while others say leave it enabled.
2. For Variable Bit-rate encoding, is moving the drag bar left or right higher quality (I.E Q-0 - Q-1)? Searching around also resulted in posts saying two different things.
Thanks

I'm not 100% certain, but if it's anything like mp3gain, then it'll try to normalize the "average" volume to a certain level, where "average" could be a perceived average, or a true average, etc.
Higher means bigger file size (and better quality). Note that different VBR settings enable different profiles (if you don't force them). From:

Seems like 0.16 or below enables PS, and 0.31 or below enables SBR

If it does indeed normalize the "average" volume, that I don't think it would be needed it my case since I work directly with the audio. Also, it might mellow out the high and low aspects.

Your question was answered in Audio encoding (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1173436#post1173436) forum.
The Normalize in Megui is the AviSynth Normalize (peak style), max gain without clip.
