Hi, I'm trying to synchronize subtitles with a dvd, and I'm looking for a dvd playing program (not just a program that can play vob files) that has timing more precise then just seconds.
Does such a program exist?

Thanks

Hi!

"Subtitle Workshop" has the ability to play the DVD "package" while dealing with subtitles in milleseconds...

No, please correct me if I'm wrong, but AFAIK it can only play .vob files, but not .ifo files

My apologies, I should have said "DVD SubEdit" (Select "Full Domain" from the "Open" dropdown menu). It shows subpic/subtitle time in milleseconds (lower left) and will allow you step through the entire movie one subpic/subtitle at a time...

Thx, this helps, but I still have one problem :(
I'm trying to sync the subtitles with the dvd so that I can load them as external subtitles in MPC. And the problem with the timing in DVDSubEdit is that it's not them same as the timing in other dvd players (PowerDVD, WinDVD, MPC,...), there is a delay which is different from movie to movie...

Any tips?

Thanks

timing in DVDSubEdit is that it's not them same as the timing in other dvd players (PowerDVD, WinDVD, MPC,...)And have you determined with certainty, which timing is correct?

Well, all other players have the same timing so I guess that's the correct one, and since I need to sync the subtitles for MPC that's the timing that's important.

You might want to post this specific question regarding DVDSubEdit's inconsistent timing differences versus software DVD players at the DVSubEdit thread at:

Or contact the author, "JeanL" directly...

BTW - The software DVD players you've listed don't indicate timing in milleseconds, do they?

No, they don't, but the delay is always big enough to see.
