I am using Staxrip to encode MP4s with the x264 codec. My issue is that I have several devices I want to play them on and while they are all compatible with MP4 format the codec seems to be an issue. I want to play the files on my PS3, my Zune, on my computer using the Zune Software, and my PSP. I haven't found a codec using Staxrip that allows me to encode for all of them. Anyone know what I can do besides having to encode the files for each device?

I know that there is a profile compatible in all of them because I had been using the PS3 mp4 converter 3 and those play just fine in all my mp4 players... problem is the quality of the video can be anywhere from excellent to just plain crappy and it doesn't do x264 encoding.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

:thanks: all in advance :)

Your biggest hitch there will be the PS3, it's mp4 support is picky as shit.

I can get x264 video and aac audio to play fine in a mp4 container on the ps3, i can't however get mp4 working with HD content, i have given up on mp4 for ps3 and went to m2ts, its ps3 compatibility is very good, look at tsRemuxR to make m2ts files as for the other devices you will have to do some research on those.

Something you could try is AVIDemux, it has a PSP h264 profile that i have used successfully with the PS3...

Thanks a lot. I'll try those suggestions out.
