Hi Guys
So I've been successfully re-encoding mkv's, blu-ray and hd-dvd rips into wmv9 for playback on my xbox 360 for several months now. The last few weeks I've been trying to encode with subtitles using avisynth scripts. The scripts are loading into TMPGEnc fine and the preview shows the subtitles writing on top of the video - excellent! However the last 3 encodes I've tried have all errored at exactly 50%.
I thought at first there was a problem with my source files but it has now happened to a completely separate source and always at dead on 50%. I believe this to be something going wrong with the 2 pass vbr as that would seem to make sense. Has anyone got any suggestions? I'm currently trying an encode with 1 pass vbr to see what happens but won't the end result be not as good as a 2 pass? The source for this 1 pass is only a 4.5gb mkv so maybe it won't matter as much. However my other film is a 34gb m2ts file which surely will suffer in quality if I use 1 pass?
Also all of these failures have been using avinsynth scripts and not by just loading the files in manually.
Thanks all.
Mark
