So I want to cut off some parts from my mkv file.

How do I do that? In Windows we have VirtualDubMod which does all that. But In linux???

I've tried Cinelerra and PiTiVi and both crash(Pitivi closes immediately and Cinelerra just stands there)

AviDemux or MKVtoolnix.

MKVToolnix does not edit the matroska file the way I want it (just like VirtualDubMod does).

I would like a slider and cut/edit the parts that I want to cut from the slider...

I will see how AviDemux has to offer

BTW, thanx for the reply

VirtualDubMod works in Wine if you really need it. But I am wary of its MKV support; it is a positively archaic piece of software (5 years old!?), and back then I'm sure Matroska was still in its infancy.

you can use the mkvmerge gui (mmg) and use the global option to split mkvs
