i searched all over the internet but i didnt manage to find any hardware limitations for the 50xv except the resolution.
TCPMP is able to play almost everything so... if you find more info, let me know.

I am a happy X51v user. In fact Iam writing this post from my Axim! I have conducted some tests to determin what settings will work with my PDA but they will not be useful for you since my device is not only more powerful than yours out of the box but I have also had some hardware upgrades. Fortunately I have a friend in town ATM with an X50 and we have discussed trying to figure out what will work with jisUnit. There has been some discussion on Aximsite about ths but it is all speculation with no experimentation to back it up, so unless one of us finds out I don't think you will find the answers you seek. I will get back to this thread in a couple days with results.

I have a X51V and the only limitation I can find is the processing power of the device itself.

I can play any x264 profile in my x50v, but the frame dropping is huge. I'm trying to figure out which one give the best size/quality for axim's: xvid or x264. xvid plays great but the file size is big. Now I'm testing various settings for the best 640 X xxx performance/size. I found out that disable CABAC helps a lot.
