hi all,
I am not really new on encoding world, but I am am a child about codec x264, it is really cool :)
there is a way to encode Vob or something else with x264 codec using AVI file extention (megui use .MKV)?

That question was killed to death (yeah think about that :devil:) several times already.
Short answer: use mp4 or mkv when using x264. Why the heck would you want to use avi anyways?

My standalone player isn't reading the mkv files, and when I mux video and audio, mp4 extension isn't on dropdown menu.

thx for replyI don't know of any standalone that supports H.264 in AVI, so MP4 is your only option here.

Use AutoEncode in MeGUI. MP4 is already selected in Container drop-down menu.
Are you using the Adaptive Muxer tool?

x264 is not divx or xvid... your standalone will not play it back expecially if it doesnt even support other containers than avi.
avi is not a video format.
