View Full Version : @dvd2svcd: There is an error in bitrate calculation when using 2 Audio Streams.

I'm tested this error. If i choose 2 Audios and 800 Mb for the CD size destination, the program make an MPG stream with +- 870 MB and then make 2 image files, one than fit perfectly in one 800 Mb CD and another with 70-75 Mb. I think there are an error in the bitrate calculation when 2 Audio stream is selected.
Please anyone can test this and explain better english?.
Sorry for my poor english.
Saludos.

This problem is happening for me also. the new version is ignoring the 2nd audio track and calculating the video bitrate as if the final mpeg would have only one audio track.
btw: I'm changing the subject to get dvd2svcd atention.

Dvd2svcd, Are you waiting to fix de CCE freeze error?

Hi, Pinkybys!
Don't urge DVD2SVCD to give out new releases. He will release the new version when it's finished and this guy really works hard, I can tell you... :-)
You can help yourself! Just type the right average bitrate in the field "Max. Avg." in the bitrate tab.
If you do not know how to calculate bitrates, tell me, how long your movie is and what bitrate you use for the 2 audio streams. Then I will tell you what to do.
Cheers,
Harp

Same problem, but at least this thread has given the answer.
DVD2SVCD, you're doing a great job. This has to be said. This
is THE program.
The prog cut away my last ten minutes of The Sixth Sense, probably because of the second language track.

Maybe someone could help me on this until the bug is fixed?
If not, I'll be patient til the next release.
Thanks in advance

Oops, I was wrong. Putting the right bitrate into the max average field does not help.
From the logfile:
Seconds: 6916.76
CDSize: 800.00
Cut point 792.00
Variable Settings:
Frames: 172969
Anti Noise Filter: 2
Passes: 3
(...)
Min. bitrate: 300
Max. bitrate: 2467
Avg. Bitrate: 1615
The DVD was "Romeo&Juliet", RC2, 116 min long (see seconds above). So with an average bitrate of 1615 kbit/s and 256 kbit/s Audio bitrate (2x128) the total length should be 1493,7 MB. That should fit on 2 CDs easily. But DVD2SVCD 1.0.6b1 creates 3 CD images (bin/cue).
The video file is the right size (1.29 GB), the 2 mp2 audio files are 105 MB each, makes a total of 1.5 GB, which is the right size.
But the bin files are 804 MB, 806 MB and 105 MB, that makes 1715 MB. So where do the extra 215 MB come from? I have one subtitle stream, but that cannot be 215 MB, can it?
So it looks it is not a bitrate calculation error, unless the subtitle stream is really that large (which I am sure it is not).
I don't have a clue...
Can anybody help? DVD2SVCD? :-)
Thanks!
Cheers,
Harp

The same for me. The movie is too long, and after muxing and cutting there are missing some minutes at the end.
Should one use a earlier version until the next release?

Did you already try the latest beta-release (1.0.6 build 2 pre1) which is available in the thread "CCE Crash - The quest continues"? The bitrate bug you mentioned should possibly be fixed there.
