Hi everyone

im creating a dvd usind dvdlab pro, the dvd is ready to compile and burn but i would like to fill the whole dvd, the actual size of the project is 1.44GB and i would like to add a 2.5GB dummy/fake video at the end.

ive tried to make a still video with Dvdslideshow Gui and set up the slideshow to last an hour but the final mpeg file is only 50mg, i used a 720x576 blank jpeg file, it lasts for an hour but the program "sees" it doesnt need much bitrate.

Any ideas on how i can achieve the 2.5 GB mpeg file?

Thanks

i would like to fill the whole dvd Why do you want to fill the whole DVD?

I knew this would be asked... i didnt want to say because i didnt want to iniate a thread that could spiral into something totally different.

Im making this dvd to be shown at a place where i wont be when its showed, it took me a long time to do it, reading online tutorials in a rush as the dvd lab pro demo only lasts a month.

I dont want people to copy it, ive read that if we add a fake video at the end and then "scratch" the very end of the dvd(fake video) in one or two places just a little bit, hardly noticeble, it stops the dvd from being copied and its still playable on dvd players.

Ive tried it already on a test dvd and added footage at the end from a dvd i have and dvd fab, decrypter were unable to copy it.

Then it doesn't have to be "fake" video. Just repeat your real content as many times as you need to fill the DVD. Or use any video you have lying around.

thanks for your advice neuron2

when i said "fake" i meant a 1 hour black video, sometime ago i read a guide that explained how to do it with tmpgenc but canf find it now.

But ill take your advice in repeating the footage.

Thanks

Your quest will fail. Most rippers read the contents from the IFO files and will ignore unreferenced crap at the end. If the studios can't protect a DVD, why would you think you can?

it wil be referenced in the ifo, to all effects it will be part of the dvd, not some video unreferenced in the dvd, but im not an expert.

Perhaps because no one would buy scratched dvds, im not saying it will work 100% just trying it out.

Hi!

Interesting concept that would prevent copying by those with limited backup knlowledge - just don't scratch the wrong part of the disc ;>}

Another interesting concept, if you want to allow these people to run the DVD only once would be burn to a REWRITEABLE disc and create an Autorun file to play the DVD and, at the end of play, erase the disc...

@setarip_old

2 people replyed to the post with proper answers without resorting to sarcasm so please refrain from doing it on my "post" as i needed help and not a Mr/Miss "know it all" being sarcastic.

@ricardo

A couple of things:

1. Please remember rule 4. I don't see any sarcasm in setarip's post.
2. Modern rippers that do explorations (eg AnyDVD, DvdFab and RipIt4Me) can distinguish between a scratch in a cell that is not relevant. I really don't like your chances, but good luck anyway.

@Blutach

its not the first time setarip does this, my original comment was harsher than the one i posted but "i cut i down " to avoid strikes. im aware that are wiser people here than me but i have to do it to understand it even if i fail, i actually wrote about sap players not dvd pc based payers so i take the autorun thing as sarcasm.

Once agains thanks for your input on the subject Blutach.

Well, as I said, I don't see a problem with setarip's response. If you have an issue with another member, please appeal to a mod via PM, rather than do it in the forum, OK?

And I offered you a different methodology for creating such a DVD - with absolutely nothing remotely resembling sarcasm.

For the sake of peace and clarity, would you please explain what part of my post you believe is sarcastic?

Thanks.
