With Windows XP SP-2

For a while now, pgcedit has been crashing repeatedly. It opens, loads a dvd properly, editing usually (always, I think) goes fine; it always crashes, though, on "jump to pgc on dvd insert." It doesn't seem to matter what kind of ripper I use, or what kind of source dvd (old, new, whatever). I downloaded a fresh copy of the latest version; same problem. I don't know if it's a factor, but I replaced my HD a while back, and my new (boot) HD is SATA, connected via a PCI Controller card. I only mention this because the problems are possibly coincident. Any suggestons would be greatly appreciated.

Is there an error report you can post?

Sorry about letting this drift. I bought/sold a new house in August/Sept., moved, and the motherboard died in the machine with this problem. I'm back up now with a new Mobo, new OS, same HD, burner, etc. Same problem with PGCedit.

Actually, it's now a little worse. When I open a set of DVD files for the first time, the dvd loads, scans, the "verifying number of streams" message flashes, and then it crashes, with no error reported.

If I open the same dvd after the first time, I don't see the "verifying number..." message, but it still crashes at about the same point, with no error message(s).

Any way of intercepting what's going on? THANKS.

Try to disable the dialog sounds. Menu: Options -> User Interface -> Play Sounds with yes/no/cancel dialog boxes.

That did the trick. Dang. What's up with that?

It's a known bug in the sound library used by PgcEdit. It crashes on some systems. I still don't know why. The next version of PgcEdit uses a new version of the library that should not crash any more.
