Hello, I have some AVI files on my computer (home movies of vacations and stuff) which I would like to burn as a DVD movie onto a dual layer disk. Some of them are 500 - 900mb in size and am content with having one 900mb file on a single DL DVD disk.
My problem I am having is that I am using Nero Vision to burn the disk and it doesn't seem to be burning it properly most of the time, but sometimes it does. I don't change any settings it's just that sometimes the DVD will play on my Xbox and other times it will not. The same type of DVDs are being used from the same case. The DVDs are PRIME DL DVD+R 2.4x. Does anybody have any idea whats going on? Thanks a lot.

Why waste a DL Disc on a 900MB file? Maybe in am misunderstanding you, in which case, as Setarip suggests get some Verbatim media. ;)
Cheers!

Hate to burst your bubble but I have used all kinds of DVD+R DL discs for my 360 including the cheap Office Depot(RITEK D01) discs, what I am using right now, and have not seen any difference other than the name that's printed on the disc. Then again, I refuse to pay any more than $1/DL disc or .20/SL disc and only buy them when they are on sale. I have burned thousands of discs over the last 10 years and have yet to see any of them fail due to them costing less then other over priced discs.

Hi!
You're not bursting any bubble of mine, as I'm just one amongst many (who have posted at many forums) with firsthand experience regarding the success and failure rates of various MIDs of DVD+R DL media.
As always, congratulations on your stated continuing success in burning low cost media, obtaining commercial DVDs and BDs "on the cheap" (or "magic", as you've previously stated) , etc. - all of which appear to be the exception, rather than the rule.
