You oughta lighten up, TheWEF. My question pertained to the “USAGE” of the Gknot program, in reference too learning how to do something from the product of the Gknot program.
Your immediate action to dismiss my question, in my opinion, is rather uncalled for. Perhaps other people could have benefited from the knowledge of learning how to do something, from the product of the fabulous Gknot prog.
Excuse me for participating….

TheWEF is right.
gknot has nothing to do w/ what you are trying to do.
load up vdub/nandub open file, save image sequence

TheWEF,
I never tried to force you to respond to me, nor would I even desire you too if in your opinion my question is/was insignificant. If you feel overwhelmed, simply do not respond to questions. I'm sure other people could have been helpful, instead of dismissing my entire question all together.
My question related to the Gknot program because I was asking how to do something to a divx file that I created with Gknot. I use to know how to do this with avi/edit when I encoded using flaskMPEG. However, the divx files that I’ve created with Gknot, I cannot figure out how too do it…
Too MxxCon,
I’m sure TheWEF can speak for himself, no one asked for a cheerleader.

and here is where you are wrong.
you didn't even think yourself that what you want to do can be done with gknot.
knowing that you should have choosen a different forum: general discussion or newbie or (if asking if it can be done with vdub) vdub.
c'mon, don't feel offended, just do it right the next time.

lol d00d your answer was vague and unfriendly. Many people post threads in here that relate to Vdub/Ndub. And since Vdub and Ndub are used in the Gknot "package", I don't see how my question could have been inappropriate. I was asking for a simple opinion on how to edit a divx file that I created with the Gknot “package”.
For all I know, perhaps Gknot could have been the reason why I “couldn’t” do what I was asking to learn how to do.
My question required an answer, not a vague comment, then a dismissal.
<c'mon, don't feel offended, just do it right the next time.
Offended is the natural reaction when someone’s legitimate question is dismissed. I do strive to get it right, hopefully a more tolerating forum…

OK. Here it is.
First of all .avi created with GKnot is the same as created with Flask (DivX-file).
So all U have to do open VDub and open created .avi , go to video and copy source frame to clipboard and past it in Paint and save it to disk.
TheWEF is right , this question have nothing to do with this forum.

ffroms,
I respect your opinion, you should respect mine as well. If my question didn't belong in this forum, most other threads shouldn't either. I.E. personal opinions on the encoding subject, how much they love to encode, etc...
RESPECT is the key, look how much bandwidth was/is wasted by debating? I asked a simple question that pertained to a divx movie that I encoded while using Gknot, I'm wondering if this isn't clear enough for you?

geez divx_encode.
what crawled up your butt?
you posted a question, you were told by the MODERATOR that this is wrong forum, you were told how to do what you want. that's it, done, topic closed.
but you comeback all pissy and upset?!
you are the one who need to get some RESPECT.
GKNOT is just a frontend, "shell" for other programs. it did not create avi, nandub/vdub did.
when you are having problems with word you don't go complaing to windows support, you go to word support. sure you used windows to run word, but windows has nothing to do w/ it.

MxxCon,
It’s obvious you’re the one feeling pissy and scorned. Furthermore, no one asked you for an opinion when I was discussing my issue with TheWEF. As I stated previously, the moderator is capable of speaking for himself, without some cheerleader shaking his pompoms.
Also, just because the moderator makes a statement, we as contributors and participants have the right to disagree; most of us are not puppets! The moderator’s response was vague and unhelpful to me; I have the right to learn, just as you do.
Lastly, a divx file isn’t just a divx file (not sure if you knew this or not). I will give an example, when I encode divx files using Flask, I was able to use certain progs to capture images and split into separate files. Well, these divx files that I’ve encoded while using Gknot, I’m unable to do these editing steps with my old progs. Therefore, my question pertained to the Gknot package, as I stated numerous times. It wasn’t an off the wall question that needed to be dismissed. If that’s the case, a lot of questions should be dismissed in here, which BTW will turn this forum into an unjust autocracy.
Don’t mistake someone who exercises enough courage to speak his mind with the moderator with someone who’s upset. Not in my world, maybe your's
:D

forum rule 4 says the moderator has the last word. What is there so fundamentally hard to understand in this principle? it works the same way on every board.. somebody or a comitee of priviledged members set the rules and others enforce them. Unfortunately some people understand this principle as a challenge and try to question my moderators at each and every turn, sometime blatantly ignoring the forum rules and then I have to come and straighten out the issue. This is really not the point of having moderators.
So.. if you have a probem with a moderator take it up with me! And in this case forum rule3 applies.. your post has nothing to do with gknot (and thewef could even have simply deleted it.. it says so in rule3).
Case closed.
