Hi there!
I just installed Vista 64 and I'd like to try out some stuff, so I used the search function to see which encoders are available in 64bit versions. However, must of the results I got were from somewhen 2006, and are probably outdated by now.

As far as I could gather there are at least 64bit versions of x264, avisynth and ffdshow (for decoding), but I was unable to find any download links both working and, more importantly, not 2 years old. So if you could give me an update on the whole 64bit developement stuff it would be great (alternatively, if 64bit support turned out to bring no speed enhancements, just tell me that^^)

best regards

there is a lack of native windows 64bits tools for A/V compression...(FFdshow is still experimental, neither recent version for x264 nor avisynth).

Stay with a 32bits OS...;)

I use a 64 bit os and MeGUI works fine for me. I just can't use 64 bit versions of the software since no one makes them. In fact it seems that using MeGUI works better for me now than it did with Vista X86. Go figure.

x264 hasn't supported Windows 64-bit for ~2 years or more. Patches are welcome to resolve this.

windbl0ws + x264 64bit = useless for video encoding.
it would be more usefull something like native avisynth for linux or 64bit avisynth with full filters port.

32-bit Avisynth on Linux + avs2yuv + 64-bit x264

we already have that thru wine... but a native avs port or a working avs3 based on libavcodec would be the excelent :)
