Hi
Using DVDShrink 3.2, in the Back DVD dialog box, on the LAST tab, there is a check box for "Book type DVD-ROM".
I have used DVDShrink for years, and with 3.2, this is new.

What is it (Book type DVD-ROM) and what difference does it make if I check it or not?

I use both DVD-5 and DVD-9 (depends on movie) with DVDShrink with no problems so far with Nero 7. (with Verbatuim DVD+R)

Thanks and I hope i am posting this in the right Forum.

Hi!

1) If I remember correctly, that option is actually appearing in NERO, not DVD Shrink

2) If, as you state, you are burning DVD+R media, placing a checkmark for "Book type DVD-ROM" MAY allow your burned DVD+R to play on a standalone DVD player that otherwise would reject it - by supposedly "fooling" the player into believing that the media is actually a commercial, pressed DVD.

Be advised that not all DVD burners can accept this change, it cannot be used with DVD-R media, and most modern standalone DVD players will readily play burned DVD media (+ and -) without having to be "fooled"...

The check box IS in DVDShrink 3.2

I have been using DVD+R for a few years now with no problems on commercial regular DVD players.

So far i see no differences in performance in the DVD playing with or without the box checked.

This was just a informative question.
