Hi,

1. Is there a really working solution like AutoGK for BD to x264? When I checked it 1 year ago there were still not useable.

2. What is the smallest bitrate for a 1920x1200 x264 encoded video which then still looks almost like the original?
Or to ask differently - how big should be the endoded x264 for a 90min. 1920x1200 movie?

Cheers..sb

Dont know about AutoGK i do not use it, as for bitrate do some trials and find what you are happy with, i have found with a 2 Pass XVID @ 8mbps encode i end up with files upto 8-12gb and they look pretty good, not as good as the original but still very good.

There is no way to answer how big they should be, as differnt movies compress differently..... aspect ratio, speed of the scenes (ie action or drama), the amount of dark scenes, the amount of scenes with lots of different colours.... i could go on, it all plays a role in how big a file will come out, do some testing on your own and figure out what compromise between quality and size you are happy with, as i said i have found 8mb to be my prefered, 7mb is gettign way too low for a 1920x1080 movie.... keep in mind a 2.35 aspect ratio movie after being cropped will actually be something like 1920x800.
