I export as qtref, then convert to .avs and feed CCE Basic with this file. It has worked before but now, well CCE Basic starts encoding and the first screen turned up:

Saving F:\Mov,Wav filer\stchris.vaf...
I recognized in this window on top right I had
Quantiziser Scale I -1.#J
-I.#J

A new window turned up>
CCE encoding failed> OPV VBV ovf frame# 432 *00>00>17>07( I 224 max 176.00 rel 48:00 1.27 qsv +I.#J->/I.#J

I clicked ok and a new window came up:
vinfo_open() failed:*** Could not open the file F:\Mov,Wav filer\stchris.vaf> The system can not find the file specified [Windows errorcode: 0x22]

This is the correct path to my file.
I use Quicktime alternative instead of quicktime since this was recommended to me and I had problems importing into AVSP before.

I did a video and audio mixdown since I have been working with fillers in my movie but it doesnt help. Does anyone know whats happening?

CCE Basic is failing in OPV (One Pass VBR) mode on frame 432.

Try doing the encoding in 2 pass VBR

Have you recently upgraded CCE?

I ask because I would got a similar error to that with v2.70.01.16, regardless of the source, and the only solution for me was to step back to the previous version.

CCE Basic doesn't have a 1 pass VBR mode so it can't be that.

That error occurs often when Max Bitrate is to high

I always use CBR 9600 2 Pass and had never trouble with it before. For me cce basic has been a very stable performer and my computer is not strong at all.

It cant be VBR in the error message because I always use CBR at this bitrate (for all material that is under 1 hour and fits on a disc that is..)

Yes Jeffster, I have just upgraded. I have the older version also.. but now its too late over here (in Berlin). Tomorrow I will try it!

Can you feed qtref.mov directly to cce basic? For me this has never worked, I convert to .avs first and found this earlier a reliable solution. I suppose there are no qualitative difference

I downgraded cce basic and the problems disappeared.
