Could there any possibility in which hibernation during encoding with MeGUI could result in errors in video or audio of the resulting file? Just wanna know before to prevent such errors.

Hi!

Just as a general statement, I wouldn't want to risk my system going into hibernation during encoding by ANY program...

How to risk your system that way?

What I mean is that, during any encoding procedure, I would make sure that hibernation mode is turned off, so that there is no possibility of messing up the encoding...

What if the power goes off and the computer goes into hibernation, isn't that better than starting over?

Why don't you perform a simple test:

Start a MeGUI job
Hibernate the computer
Resume the computer from hibernation
Check the status of your interrupted MeGUI job

I have tested it and it works. But I don't want that in 1 of ten 10 encodes somewhere in the video is an error which I will see when its too late. Can't watch dem always in a whole to be sure. That why I ask here about your experiences.

Well, I did it a few times and it worked just fine. The whole point of "hibernate" is that stuff like this works ;)

This is no guarantee that it will work for you though...

if hibernation works as it should there should be no problems.

I've never had an issue with it.

If you're encoding off an external drive or something, there might be a problem if it loses the file handle.

Can't speak for encoding apps, but the pc in my car which runs MPC constantly (among other things) has done 117 hibernations/restores in a row without failure. That's with a hefty amount of usb devices attached too (cdrom, gps, wifi, kb, touchscreen, remote, irda).
