I looked around a bit, but I can't find an AAC codec.
I don't want an encoder that, just the codec itself, so I can encode the videos into h.264 AAC all using VirtualDub.
Please post if you know where to download it, or if this is impossible or something.

What about an AC3 codec? Used in the same way.

h.264 and aac in avi is a bad idea. I would highly recommend moving to mkv, or mp4 if you want to start using h.264.
Virtualdub is great for previewing scripts and encoding divx/xvid, but that is all that it should be used for.

Okay you are all saying not you put in into .avi, I know that, I can just use MKV merge after it encodes.
@Sharktooth- The link you gave me doesn't work. It gives me a "Secure Connection Failed" error. And the reason I want to do it with VirtualDub is so I can embed subtitles into a video at the same time. If you don't recommend doing all this through VirtualDub, what do you suggest, all while putting it into h.264, AAC or AC3, and embedding subtitles.

Also you might want to have a look at Avidemux, if you used VirtualDub before:

Oh thanks lol I didn't see the s. I just clicked it. Is Avidmux able to put subtitles on a video?
Same questions still stand to anyone else willing to help.
EDIT: I downloaded that Avidmux and it looks really good, but I don't see anyway to use it for subtitles. As much as I like it, if I can't use it for subtitles then I can't use it at all.

Okay basically all I need is an AAC codec like FAAC that has an install program for it so that VirtualDub can read that it's on my computer. The FAAC site doesn't have an install file for it. I encountered this same problem when I was looking for a x264 install file but I had finally found one after a bit of searching. This one is just taking longer D:

VirtualDub uses VfW (Video for Windows) Codecs for video compression and ACM (Audio Compression Manager) Codecs for audio compression.
But there is no AAC Codec for ACM, so better forget about that. The same applies for Ogg Vorbis...
BTW: Avidemux supports AAC audio (FAAC is "built-in") and subtitle filters can be found at "Video -> Filters -> Subtitles" ;)

I thought that that's where I found find it, but when I click on Filters nothing happens. No window opens or anything.
