View Full Version : DivX files with v-e-r-y slow audio

Good evening,

I have a number of DivX files where the audio is running extremely slowly in comparison with the video - are there any simple ways of "stretching" the audio so that it maps across the full length of the video i.e. speeds up?

Sorry for the non technical nature of the question - this is a new topic for me!

Thanks in advance

Pete

Sorry - I just read the thread two threads below to see that someone just asked exactly the same question. I'll give VirtualDub a go!

Perhaps I have a different problem - the audio isn't at the correct speed but out of sync, it's at the wrong speed and out of sync as well - it's far too slow to catch up with the video! can anyone help, please?

Hi!I have a number of DivX files where the audio is running extremely slowly in comparison with the video
1) What software and procedures did you use to create these DivX-compressed .AVI files?

2) Does the original source material (presumably DVDs) exhibit this same behavior?

3) Why would you create more than one such problematic video, rather than solving your problem first?

4) Please load one of your problematic files into GSpot and post a screen capture back here.

At risk of contavening any forum rules, I was backing up an episodic series using Dr DivX, so I wasn't actually watching the DivXs as I created them. It's only now that I've started watching them that the problem has manifested itself. It affects approximately 35 files out of a total of about 140. they were all ripped using the same tool. When playing the DivXs, there is a sharp cracking sound at the beginning of each - the video plays at the normal rate, but the audio is very slow - too slow enough to able to discern any dialog.
Hope this helps...

Unfortunately, I no longer have the original DVDs - and what is GSpot, please?
