Hi,

I want to recode soft-subbed mkv files to hard-subbed avi files. I am using a combination of AviSynth, Haali's Media Splitter, VSFilter, ffdshow and VirtualDub.
The Video is 16:9 but the TV is 4:3 and I want to utilize that to pad the subtitles into the black borders. I chose "Extend to 4:3" under "vertical padding" in VSFilter and it works fine.

My question:
Is there any way to pad the video (and also the subtitles - but not as much as the video) up, so that the upper black bar becomes smaller?

My idea was to add a border at the bottom using ffdshow but I don't know how to do it. I tried using "AddBorders(0,0,0,x)" in ffdshow's avisynt tab but I only get an Avisynth error. (which is totally disturbed and can not be read)
