I'm having too many dropped frames in virtualDub when capturing avis,
I'm using :
Audio: MP3 56/24
Video: 352x288 UYVY DIVX4.12

I'm getting drops like: 415 frame/min

I have a PentiumIII 866 with 256MB, Maxtor-HD, Asus CUSL2C, GeForce2 Gts, SBLIVE.
All have the latest drivers(when applicable)

I've read the doc, and here are the reasons pointed there:
* Insufficient CPU power: With 866MHZ ?
* Slow hard disk: Maxtor-HDs are the fastest I know.

* Bus bottleneck: Perhaps...How to check this?

* Bad source: I'm Recording from Digital satelite receiver.

* Timing correction necessary to keep the audio synchronized:
I have a SBLive, could it be the reason?

Please help!

Thanks in advance...
Mohamz

i would say its the mp3 compression. have you tried with uncompressed audio ?
compressing the audio during capture is generally not a good idea.

I came to the forums today just to tell this.
It was the MP3 compression, now I record in PCM then encode the Sound.

Thank you Zhnujm
