The dvd from the last german magazine PC World 2008/8 includes the movie No Good Deed with bad sectors in the middle of every vob.
Very good! You get 3 stops on the jumps over the gaps like a layer break!
But latest AnyDVD 6.4.5.0 doesn't recognize the bad sector protection on the disk.
What to do??
Very simple - Use IsoBuster.
- Switch off the Copy protection based on unreadable sectors in AnyDVD. Otherwise it will hang.
- Start AnyDVD and then IsoBuster and extract the VDEO_TS folder. Set read repeats to 1 in IsoBuster.
On every unreadable sector the drive needs more time, stay patient. You can speed-up the process by forcing the PC into standby mode on a bad sector. After restart AnyDVD recognizes the bad sectors and will skip it. Fill up all unreadable sectors with zeroes (option in IsoBuster).
After the copy you can repair the crippled structure with PgcEdit and FixVTS and make a proper backup.
And the morons thought there is not enough protection. They added a password request on dvd, which expires in August, because their server will no longer respond. If you want to watch the video on TV you must take the password response from internet every time you start the dvd.
A new attempt, to make a purchased video unusable after a few weeks.
The answer: Not buy such trash!
or use PgcEdit to delete the stupid commands.
