I recorded some TV shows and I'd like to remove the commercials and save it. How can I do that?
(I'm currently decrypting the DVD with RipIt4Me and it seems to be going through OK.) I have six episodes (6 hours) on the disk. I recorded it with a Panasonic DVDR.

I assume he is recording on DVD-RAM on which the Panasonic DVDR uses the silly CPRM "copy protection". If INCD which comes with NERO is installed on a system the video files can be played by DVD-player software but the video .VRO-files cannot be displayed an copied. If you deinstall INCD and just use the standard DVD-RAM-drivers which Windows XP has you can copy the .VRO-files without a problem and then can access them in any MPEG2-capable video programme.

Hi. I don't know. I just didn't know any other way to proceed.

Hi. The Pana DVDR came with a DVD-RAM disk and I've used that but usually I just use a regular DVD-RW and format it on the recorder.

I own a copy of NERO 7 but don't have it installed on my main computer as I have Roxio on that one.
What are .VRO files and how do you copy them with WIN XP?
Thanks.

If you insert the DVD-RAM disc into a DVD-RAM capable drive of your PC then you will find a "DVD_RTAV" directory on it and within it a file "VR_MOVIE.VRO". This file contains the MPEG2/AC3-clip. Using Windows Explorer you just have to copy it on your hard disc and either open it directly with the video processing programme of your choice or first rename it e.g. to clip.mpg and open this file renamed file instead.

Hi,
I have to figure out how to get the video processing program I got to work. I downloaded one of the free ones from the thread stax pointed me to above. I got some picture out of it, but haven't figured out how to do anything else with it yet. Maybe because I was using the decrypted files. I'll try it again the way you suggest.
If I'm working from a DVD-RW, will it work the same way?
Thanks.
