So I have been using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter for about 4 years now, but more and more newer DVDs cannot be backed up using DVD Shrink, so I guess its time to take the plunge to newer software that is updated. I am thinking of DVDfab HD Decrypter. Any other suggestions?

It's a good program that's constantly being updated but DVDFab HD Decrypter only rips the files to your HDD. Nothing else. If you're looking to compress you'll have to buy the full version or my favorite, DVD Rebuilder.

Correct, but the title of this thread is Switching from DVDShrink.

@dialysis1
The OP obviously was under the impression that DVD Shrink could no longer be used for his/her purposes - and we all know that's incorrect.
BTW - Isn't there also a fully functional FREEWARE version of DVD Rebuilder?

Yes but it will only do the full disc unless you preprocess.

As sort of mentioned above, the problem isn't with DVD Shrink. It must receive "clean" files to work, and DVD Decrypter cannot pre-process all DVDs properly by itself.

I'm still using DVD shrink. If you rip with DVDfab HD Decrypter then open that file with DVD shrink you will have no problems. Its another step, but its all free.
