View Full Version : Problem with DVD split up on multiple layers

I just ran into an interesting bug or problem...

I was copying 12 Monkeys..

The VOB structure of this movie appears like it is split up on 2 layers... vobs 1 - 3 are the full size then you have a very small 4th vob. VOB 5 is full sized and then VOB 6 is small again...

So, I figure that 1-4 are on the first layer and 5-6 are on the second..

It just so happens that if you rip an audio track out, you can fit the full movie on 1 DVD-R... bonus, right? well.. after stripping the audio w/ ifoedit and burning it. I am watching it..

The dvd is screwed up in the exact place where the 3rd or 4th vob ends.. not sure which...

Anyone else have this problem with a dvd structured like this?

maybe when ifoedit joins the vob files it screws with something?

I am just speculating here.. I am going to try to use smart ripper to rip the audio out instead of ifo edit and see what kind of results that has...

On a side note.. This plays perfectly on power DVD... just screws up on the stand alone player.

So, after ripping the audio out with smart ripper and leaving them in the original files it seems to work perfectly.

So, my question... Is this a bug in ifoedit? Or is there something in the ifo that was looking for certain chapters to be in certain VOB files?

Anyone?
