Hi all

Whenever I make a 2 cd (2 x 700mb) encode I have the box ticked for split the cd's after job finished.

But after its finished and I check the folder I always have 3 parts with the 3rd being around 1 minute and it's the last part of the credits.

I don't know why it won't squash the last 1 minute of the credits onto part 2 like I am wanting.

Does anyone know what setting I need to change?

What's the total file size of all the 3 parts put together?

If it's > 1400 MB, then you are getting oversizing. See here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=92046) on what to do about that.

If it's <= 1400 MB, then what's happening is probably this - just because you tell GK to split at 700 MB, doesn't mean that it will exactly split at that point. It will only split at the key frames (I-frames) closest to the specified split points. So it's entirely possible that you might end up with a 699 MB file, a 699 MB file and then a 2 MB file. As long as this doesn't happen all the time, you can probably live with joining the 2nd and 3rd parts together manually with VirtualDubMoD. Or else, you can lower the Maximum I-frame interval in the Xvid settings. These will place the I-frames closer together to make editing easier, but will lower the quality a bit.

Better yet, encode the job in two parts so you can control the split at a scene change.
