i have converted a dvd to avi but the audio and subtitles are not in sync with the video. the problem is the dvd is a special edition and so there is some introductory scenes before the movie proper begins. there are 2 ifo files and 9 vob files. i tried deleting the first of the vob files but when i retried it had not removed the intro and still out of sync. process takes 5 hours so have not experimented further. any suggestions as to how to eliminate the intro so that it will convert in sync (provided that's the problem). need to do this this weekend to give to students before summer break. thanks

when i select the input file (ifo) a window appears informing me that there are several PGCs and i have an option to select one. most are short, one is 2:59 minutes (i assume this is the movie - or perhaps the movies with all the special edition frills). i believe i tried using this one last time with the same results - out of sync. which vob files should i delete; where is the audio; the subtitles?
