View Full Version : How to remove 'empty' subtitles?

Hello, i've stripped all the subtitles/audio streams with VobBlanker except one of each, after that i edited the VTS_01_0.IFO (movie itself) with ifoedit and deleted all the streams/subtitles info except the ones i kept. Then i opened the dvd structure with PgcEdit and "fixed" all the streams.
Now here's the problem... when i open the movie i see three subtitles options, but of course, only the one i wanted works... there's a way to remove the other two that are unusable from the list? I've opened the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and i see the other two subtitles (and an audio stream, but it doesn't even appear as an option on the movie, weird...) that i don't want, but i don't know how to delete them. That has something to do with it?
Take a look:

Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

Anyone...?
Perhaps you can, by editing IFO. Please read

Open your movie with PGCedit, right click on the main stream, click on domain stream attributes and remove the subs U don't want...that's it...they won't appear anymore:)
(remember to save before closing PGCedit)

Why on earth make things difficult?

Thank you Ukendt for your prompt answer and nice and easy facility. I didn't know PGCedit, nor have ever edited any IFO, but had read in the link thread I mentioned a post by Manono talking about that, because I have some related problem to solve. By the way, perhaps you may give me its answer:
It seems that standalone players use a different set of subtitles (at least for anamorphic videos)for conventional screen TV (LB) and for Widescreen TV (Wide), which are selected by default according to the setup of the player. That information should be inside the corresponding PGC-IFO, I wonder. Then, if I make these two sets of subtitles for a new DVD or add them to someother, how can I write that information to the player?
Thank you very much in advance.:thanks:

You may use Muxman remembering to check LB and Wide for each sub or use SC to decide where to place the subs before mixing and , if I don't remember wrong, You may also use DdvSubedit to change/correct position on already existing subs.

Thanks again, Ukendt. I'm using SC but, up to now, only to properly place in position and create .sup from .src. So that I don't need DVDSubedit (Which I have used for other tasks). MuxMan is associated with SC, I know, but I never used this feature to rebuild DVDs with the subtitles created. It's understandable that the flag for the SAP reading Wide or LB subtitles according to the TV you use be created by these soft. I thought before that I should have to manually edit the IFO and that is by now a dificult task for me. I'll give a trial to MuxMan+PgcDemux+VobBlanker in SC.
Thank you very much.
