Survey about FFmpeg/libav

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if there's demand for custom compiled FFmpeg on Linux systems. I'd also like to know where you are getting your copy from now, if you're using FFmpeg or the libraries. Thanks!

I custom compile my version for use, since the stable version that usually ships with ubuntu either doesn't support some media codec inputs/outputs or has some bugs that was fixed in the svn version , also i have sometimes linked my compiled version to other libraries like the gstreamer ffmpeg plugin and xine lib plugins.

I would be happy if I had up-to-date ffmpeg for gstreamer for Ubuntu 8.04. I am talking about something similar to the ffdshow-tryout project for Windows.
