Hi,

I am trying to make a widescreen svcd (PAL), but one way or another I canīt seem to make it work. (Wrong resolutions, scrambled images/sound). I tried 480x576/704x576/720x576 and 768/576, but I must be doing something wrong, because I canīt achieve the 16:9 image. I am working with Premiere 6 and TMPGEnc. The thing is I want an original computer generated avi file to be converted to a 16:9 SVCD. What should I use for input resolution (square(VGA)/4:3/16:9 format and what resolution) and what resolution and format should I render to from TMPGEnc? Any help would be very welcome...
Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Rick.

I know you are not using dvd2svcd but it has a great thread on aspect ratios, see http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5905

Hi segv,

thank you very much for your reply. This thread really helped me out big time! I donīt know too much about the technical specs of movie making, and thatīs probably where I went wrong, but this thread really made things a lot clearer.

Best regards,
Rick.
