My dad is looking for a program that he can use to backup all his Lionel train DVDs. While most of the small "mom and pop" released ones are home made and thus have no copy protection, some of the bigger comapnies do.

While I have no problem using DVD shrink then Nero, or anything else like that... those are a bit too many steps for my dad. Does anyone have any recommendations for people with less computer skills? I hope this isnt considered "Asking for the best" (rules) but I have little experience with other programs. Maybe there is someone else out there in a similar situation?

I have used DVDXCopy Express and while it was pretty good... it often seemed to crash or not work on a lot of DVDs. Maybe because it was older?

Thanks alot!

If he just wants a backup, then use DVD Decrypter. First, do ISO read. Then do ISO write to a blank DVD. Of course, he'll need a DVD burner drive.

P.S. Why not be a good son/daughter and make the backups for your father?

Okay okay guys, Im sorry! Yes Im the know-it-all college kid thinking everyone older than me isnt as smart... you all can make fun of me for it now!

Lets forget age here... lets just say something for someone who is very novice with computers... what would you folks recommend? Like I said I tried DVD X Copy Express but that program seemed unstable all the time and crashed alot.

I prefer to make 1:1 copies (Dual Layer burner with DL discs) so if a program supports that, would be cool. Thanks again!
