I am backing up Iron Man(old 90s version) and since each discs is 3 hours and the quality isn't great any ways i have decided to split each disc into two. So i have used ifoedit 96 selected vob extras, select the correct options and done the split. Question is how do i change a chapter point in ifoedit as disc one shows up as ch 01->05 but disc two is showing up as ch 01,ch 07->09 so i was hoping to change disc2 to be ch 06->09. The chapter selections in the menu i can disable in pgcedit afterwards.
Also even though i had split to 1GB selected in ifoedit the new split vobs are 649MB each, any ideas to why this is happened.
The trick used by IfoEdit is to map all removed chapters to the first remaining cell. So, in your case, chapters 1 to 6 are all pointing to the original chapter 6. (You can verify that with PgcEdit.) If you select chapter 6 in the chapter menu, it will be shown correctly, but the player displays the first chapter number assigned to that cell: chapter 1. If it's really a problem for you you can create a new cell at the beginning of the PGC with PgcEdit, and assign it chapters 1 to 5. It will be shown briefly (still with chapter 1 in the led display of the player) but immediately after, chapter 6 will be played, and its right chapter number will be displayed.
Note also that I prefer to use VobBlanker to split a DVD. It's easy. You have to blank the cells you don't want in disc 1 and generate the copy in a new folder. Then, repeat the operation for disc 2. VobBlanker doesn't remove the cells. It blanks them. Therefore, the chapters are still pointing to different cells. The drawback is that 5 blank cells are played at the beginning of disc 2, but that can be avoided by inserting a LinkPTT 6 as the last precommand of the movie PGC.

Did you set them this way in Ifoedit?
