I have just encoded a movie and muxed it in nandub. The size is over 1G. When i split it in Vdub using home/End keys to mark start and End keyframes the resulting (1st) avi has jerky video and outta sync audio (in WMP6.4). I think its because the sound is a vbr mp3 (~192k).
How can i solve this prob?

use nandub if you want to split movies with vbr mp3.

Use nandub.
First demux the file so you have the mp3 sound available in a separate file, or even nandub will get into trouble. Then open the video the normal way in nandub, set audio and video to direct stream copy. Then use the vbrmp3 option in the audio menu to load the mp3 file correctly. Now you can use home/end to split the file as you normally would in Vdub.
(Nandub is of course avaliable from your favourite DivX (http://www.doom9.org) site

Good thing i had not deleted the soundless avi and the vbr mp3.

Right. I have split the soundless avi in Vdub and then successfuly muxed the soundless CD1 avi with the VBR mp3 in Nandub. So CD1 is fine now.

Now how do i mux (in Nandub) the second (CD2) soundless avi? if i use the same settings and mp3 it just sounds like CD1...i suppose i could chop the first part of the mp3 so the vid and sound sync in CD2.

is there an alternate?

Okk.
I just tried as u suggested Hakko. Using the Home/End keys and then muxing the soundless avi and vbr mp3 in Nandub for CD2 and it works! thx alot guys for guiding me to the solution.

Doom9 has a nice guide on splitting with either Nandub or Vdub. I've used it; it works for me... note that you must split on keyframes ... the guide suggests, when splitting by MB in nandub, that you back off by 2MB (if you're trying to fit on CDs) but I found backing off by 10MB to be safer due to the distance between my keyframes. I'm using Nandub both because of vbr mp3, and it's also easier.
