I'm working on doing HQ rips of LD to DVD. I am intially ripping to a stand alone DVD recorder, at HQ (one dvdr per LD side) for the high quality. The movie I am working on has a break between sides 2 and 3 that has a blank scene but the sound continues onto the beginning of side 3. When I record the sides to dvdr I get some of the search screen from the LD player at the beginning and some dead air at the end. I used dvd shrink to try to rip only the main part to the hd. The problem is I need to really fine tune the end of the side 2 so the file ends exactly where the sound stops, and I need to trim the beginning of the side 3 so it begins exactly where the sound picks up in order to get the continuity. I am very new to this and am fearful of getting a synch problem and hope there is a program that will let me preview with video sound so I can be sure where exactly to chop them since there is no video only sound.
