hi, i know it might sound stupid, but is it possible to define a layer break in an avi file?
i want to put a movie trilogy on a dual layer disc, but each part is ~2.5 GB, so the trilogy fits on a dual layer, but no combination of any two parts can fit on one layer. so i guess there will be a layer break somewhere in the second movie, but i don't want it to be coincidental. and also, i don't want to split the movie into two parts (that would be the easiest solution, but then why bother posting in this forum? :p)

While I've not tried this myself I can quote LIGHTNING UK! the author of ImgBurn on the subject:
"There will be a tiny pause in reading any file that spans the layerbreak but I very much doubt you'd notice it. Most players will perform some sort of buffering/caching so it would appear seamless even if it was an AVI or whatever."

The AVI is a data file and as such does not need to break on a cell boundary. Just burn it as a data file.
