When I manually copy my vob files from my dvd to my hard drive (without letting dvd2svcd do it), DVD2SVCD runs through it process, but when I play the video, I get the message on the screen "AVISYNTH: caught an access violation at 0x0c101d1a attempting to read from 0x0c12e7c4".

If I let dvd2svcd rip the vobs it works fine. (Actually it's phenomenol. (my donation is on the way)

Anyone have any idea why it would do this when I manually copy the vobs? I am copying the .bup and .ifo files to the drive as well as the vobs.

One thing I noticed, it that it is usually the .ifo file 2 that contains the largest file(s). Should I be selecting the .ifo #0 as the file?

Any help would be appreciated

I suspect it is an issue with the IFO file and possibly a part of the copy protection. Look through this forum and see if it can help you. http://rilanparty.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=50

I have no idea why you want to copy the VOB files manually when you know that ripping with DVD2SVCD works and you can stop the process after the rip is done just by closing DVD2SVCD, but whatever.
If for some reason you wish to use another program try SmartRipper and when you go to do the SVCD just pipe the files through the internal ripper of DVD2SVCD.

Mark,

Your right. After your post, it dawned on me that the vob files need to be ripped instead of just copied.

I suspect if I rip the vob files from one directory into my dvd2svcd working directory the process will work fine.

My screwup. Thanks for your input.
