Hi,

I'm trying to rip Last Man Standing (region 2 DVD) but when DVD Decrypter comes into play, a warning message appears saying that the DVD is not supposed to be protected by CSS/CPPM but that an encryption was found. At the end of the rip, I get an image full of artifacts which is I guess the DVD protection.

Here is the exact message I get by DVD Decrypter:

How do I get rid of this protection ? The DVD is something like 2 years old.
Thanks!

Hi!

Per Amazon.com, that DVD was released in 1997.

As such, it should have no newer or "special" copy protection. You should be able to rip it with nothing more than good ol' DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 (No need for RipIt4Me).

Try cleaning the disc...

**EDIT** I just noticed that in your posted screen capture, it refers to "IMGBurn" as the "Source Media Implementation Identifier". Are you trying to make a backup of a backup? If so, and if it proves to be a damaged disc, just make a new backup of the original, commercial DVD instead.

You're right! I forgot to mention that I made an image of the DVD before ripping it with RipIt4Me. I was in a hurry and couldn't put my hands on RipIt4Me, just Imgburn so I thought I'd make a rough image file and then treat it with RipIt4Me to remove useless cells and other stuff. Anyway I still don't understand why I get such a result !!?

If you have any idea, I would be curious to know!
Thanks!

Sounds like you've made a corrupt image file.

Now that you've located RipIt4Me, I'd once again suggest that you make a new backup of the original, commercial DVD instead.
